Frida has been in rehabilitation at Frankmotunet in Folldal for about six months. In that time she has learned the art of dog racing, called mushing. She is now participating in her first dog sledge race ever, Femundløpet in Røros, Norway.
With only a few hours rest in a small, crowded cabin, Frida has to continue her journey over the snowcovered mountains. The temperatures at chechpoint Orkelbogen can reach as low as - 40ºC. This day it was only about - 20ºC.
One of the dogs was to tired to continue and had to be removed. With only seven dogs left Frida now has a disadvantage but is determined to finish.
Frida and her dogs has now reached Tolga were they will have one more rest before they reach the final checkpoint in Røros.
In the evening she has finally arrived at the finish line. Tired, but happy to complete the 40 miles. Her mom greets her at the finish line.
